In a world that often feels divided, heavy, and broken, I’ve created this space to explore the things that unite us—love, respect, and kindness. Here, I write about life’s complexities: parenting, trauma, healing, mental health, and the challenges of navigating a world that sometimes feels overwhelming. My goal is to foster a community where everyone, regardless of their background or beliefs, feels seen, heard, and valued.
At the heart of everything I write is the belief that kindness is transformative. Whether you are neurodiverse or neurotypical, struggling with depression or seeking joy, raising children or healing your inner child, this blog is for you.
On Sensitivity and Kindness
Sensitivity is often seen as a weakness, but I believe it’s one of humanity’s greatest strengths. It’s what allows us to connect deeply, to notice the struggles of others, and to extend compassion. For the neurodiverse community—those whose brains may process the world differently—sensitivity can be both a gift and a challenge. Parenting neurodiverse children has taught me that kindness is not just a virtue; it’s a necessity.
But kindness isn’t limited to one group. It’s something we all need, no matter how our brains work. This blog is a call to embrace kindness as a universal language—one that builds bridges instead of walls.
Break Cylcles & Compassionate Parenting
How we were raised shapes how we raise our own children. For many of us, that means confronting patterns we inherited—patterns that no longer serve us or our families. Parenting is as much about raising children as it is about raising ourselves.
I write about the joys and challenges of parenting both neurodiverse and neurotypical children. I explore how we can rewire our brains to make better choices, break cycles of trauma, and create a home environment rooted in love and understanding.
Trauma, Healing, and Finding Joy
Trauma leaves scars, but it doesn’t have to define us. Healing is a journey, and while it’s not always linear, it’s always worth pursuing. Here, I share insights on how to navigate trauma, cope with depression, and find joy even when the weight of the world feels unbearable.
Self-care is a recurring theme because you can’t pour from an empty cup. Taking care of yourself isn’t selfish—it’s essential. When we prioritize our well-being, we’re better equipped to show up for the people and causes we care about.
Faith, Unity, and Love
Faith is an important part of my life, but it’s not something I use to divide or judge. I believe that love is more important than doctrine, and that how we treat others says more than any label we wear.
For me, Jesus’ teachings boil down to one thing: love. Love for your neighbor, love for the stranger, love for those who are different from you. An atheist who practices kindness and compassion is a better reflection of Christ’s teachings than someone who attends church but harbors hate.
This blog is a space where all are welcome—regardless of faith, background, or beliefs. What matters here is not what you believe but how you love.
A Broken Heart for a Broken World
I love my country, but it’s breaking my heart. The divisions we see today—political, racial, ideological—are tearing us apart. Yet, I believe in the beauty of diversity. Our differences make us unique and should be celebrated, not feared, unless they are rooted in hate.
While I may occasionally share political thoughts, this blog is not about partisanship. It’s about finding common ground. It’s about healing the fractures in our society through love, respect, and kindness.
Doing All Things with Love
If there’s one message I hope you take away from this blog, it’s this: love is the most powerful force we have. It’s what heals wounds, bridges divide, and transforms lives.
In a world that often feels dark, love is the light. And kindness is how we carry that light into the world.
So whether you’re here to read about parenting, mental health, faith, or healing, I hope you leave feeling inspired to lead with love. Together, we can create a more compassionate world—one small act of kindness at a time.
Thank you for being here.
Beautifully said! You’re a fantastic writer, and your voice is clearly sincere.
Yes, I agree that we should bring kindness and sensitivity to all our encounters with other people. I like to add another virtue to my encounters and that is humility. I think of one way to explain humility - always leave your ego in the bin where it belongs. One of my favourite quotes about kindness comes from a t-shirt I purchased last year. On the front it states simply "Be kind always". On the back it explains why, with the following words "Everyone you meet is fighting a battle that you know nothing about". How true is that.
Thank you for the beautifully considered writing you bring to your substack. Your sensitivity shines through and I love that about you.
God bless you and your lovely family in 2025.
